Data Collection

Data Collection News currently unavailable

Terminology and Application Information:

EPIMS: Education Personnel Information Management System
This application collects individual educator data from all districts and charter schools, replacing the District and School Staffing Report (DSSR).

SIF: Schools Interoperability Framework
The Department has received a 6 million dollar State Longitudinal Data Systems grant from the US Department of Education. Part of this grant will be used to introduce new technology to improve the data collection process. Over time the ESE will implement the School Interoperability Framework to already existing data collection systems and provide grant opportunities for local school districts to participate in the SIF initiative.

SIMS: Student Information Management System
The Student Information Management System (SIMS) is a student-level data collection system that allows the Department to collect and analyze more accurate and comprehensive information, to meet federal and state reporting requirements, and to inform policy and programmatic decisions.

SSDR: School Safety Discipline Report
The School Safety and Discipline Report tracks each time a violent or drug-related incident occurs on school property. All public schools in Massachusetts are required to file a single Incident Report and Student Discipline Record for each student offender reported on the Incident Report. A Student Discipline Record must also be completed for non-drug or violent related incidents which result in suspensions of more than 10 consecutive school days for General Education students or which result in any disciplinary action for Special Education students.
